Turkey or Egypt for a family beach week?

Both put warm sea within a 4-hour flight, and they trade short transfers against longer, calmer beach days.

Turkey usually wins on logistics. Antalya and Dalaman resorts sit 25 to 60 minutes from the airport, kids clubs run set morning and afternoon blocks, and the sea stays shallow enough for small swimmers near the shore. Families who want a late dinner and a short walk back to the room tend to settle here quickly.

Egypt wins on water time. Red Sea bays give flat, clear water and house reefs within a few steps of the sand, so snorkelling needs no boat and no early start. The trade is a longer transfer, 20 to 90 minutes depending on the bay, and a summer heat that pushes the day toward mornings and evenings.
